New favorite fancy dinner spot! Love that it makes everyone happy- vegans and non vegans alike! Great date night/special occasion ambiance and service. Very extensive vegan menu beyond a basic avocado roll. Lots of interesting rolls and dishes that are flavorful and unique. Highlights include- avocado crispy rice, vegan dragon roll, lychee martini, and vegan sundae. Vegan sundae is insane and I have gone back just for that!

Was really excited to see Nutella Bread Pudding is on the menu because that's one of my favorite desserts! Flavor was good but texture was almost rubbery - a bit unexpected. Koi is a classic LA restaurant that I think should be tried at least once. As expected, things were overpriced. Food was good but you're really paying for the ambiance and service. The service was great - dishes came out at appropriate times and the staff who cleared plates were very on top of things.

I've been here several times and it's a good place to go for date night. I've been trying to rate all the local sushi, restaurants, and thought I'd give their sushi bar a try. Well it turns out that their "sushi bar" is really just a bar that happens to have two sushi chefs on the side. The sashimi that I did eat was good, but I ended up eating the glazed miso cod, which is definitely not sushi. The ambience of this restaurant is their greatest selling point, but as for my task of reading all the sushi bars in the neighborhood that was an epic fail on my part

I finally decided to try Koi. I was a bit hesitant because I usually have a hard time finding good gluten free options in Japanese restaurants. However, they were very accommodating. They actually have a gluten free menu AND they were able to tweak a few dishes from the regular menu. We started with shishito peppers. I wasn't expecting much, but their sweet soy sauce makes a huge difference. It was delicious and not too sweet. Then we got the ribeye bites. Since I couldn't dip it in their smoked soy sauce, I dipped it in the sweet miso that came with my shishito peppers. The meat was very tender. Then we got broken rice with tuna. It is served similarly to a nigiri, but the crispy rice gives it a very nice texture. We got a second order. I got the filet mignon as main. It is pre sliced sitting on a sauce and served with mashed potatoes in the middle. The meat was incredible, but I thought the mashed potatoes were unnecessary and made the dish heavy. Next time I would just ask to substitute for something else. Overall, beautiful restaurant, great food presentation, very tasty food with unique flavors, and amazing service. I will definitely be back.

Went with a part of 5 with a reservation at 7:45 was not seated until maybe 8:15. When we finally got seated, they gave us the booth which was soo small for our party of 5. The table was so tiny it could not accommodate for all our orders. We had to quickly grab stuff and get rid of the plate. The food was good. The tools were 4/5, but the carpaccio and other non fish dishes were great!!
